. The district government in today\u27s globalization era must have effective competence and management. Service is one of choice of marketing strategy to create consumer satisfaction. Katapang is one of the bonded industrial areas in South Bandung. The number of residents in Kecamatan Katapang is 117,113 people consisting of the male population as many as 60,430 people and female population as much 56,683 people (BPS of Bandung Regency, 2013). The research approach used is quantitative with data collection technique is done by interviewing and distributing questionnaires. Discussion of data using a Cartesian diagram. The results of the discussion show that the overall importance level of 3.795 while the overall performance given of 2.73, means that service performance is still below the standard of basic services and not basic services to the population

Digital Financial Services and Strategic Financial Management: Financial Services Firms and Microenterprises in African Markets

This study highlights the impact of digital financial services as enhancing the capacity of development goals as well as social sustainability. The selected emerging markets are Ghanaian financial service providers (FSP)s and microenterprise customers (CME)s, where we examine how “Ubuntu”, an African philosophy of humanism, legitimizes spaces for a more democratic, egalitarian, and ethical engagement of human beings. This study adopts a grounded theory methodology for investigation of the phenomena with a sample size of 70 relationship managers. The findings further existing sustainability literature pertaining to social sustainability and consumer wellbeing. We contribute to theory by presenting a psychological perspective which be leveraged for digital financial services branding to expand usage within communal systems. This leverage of Ubuntu becomes especially relevant when there is the need to compensate for deficits in weak business infrastructures in low-income but expanding markets. Our study highlights digital financial services can be used to improve the emotional and psychological consumer wellbeing and to strengthen business relationships, meeting joint goals of market share expansion, brand image enhancement and profitability. This perspective also contributes to social sustainability on a global scale since the Western world depends on quality products from emerging markets

SPACES OF FIBONACCI DIFFERENCE IDEAL CONVERGENT SEQUENCES IN RANDOM 2–NORMED SPACE

In this article, by using Fibonacci difference matrix  and the notion of ideal convergence of sequences in random 2–normed space, we introduce some new spaces of Fibonacci difference ideal convergent sequences with respect to random -norm and study some inclusion relations, topological and algebraic properties of these spaces.

Customer Value Co-Creation: Environmental Sustainability as a Tourist Experience

    Get PDF
Increasingly, environmental sustainability has become an important consideration for customer value co-creation, which is collaboration between a firm-provider and its customers to jointly create value. Our research question is therefore “how does customer value co-creation (CVC) enhance environmental sustainability?” We argue that attention to CVC globally would significantly enhance environmental sustainability in emerging markets. The findings of the study revealed that firms that do not enhance customer engagement and their environmental sustainability will lose patronage. Secondly, the attitude of most of these tourists who continually visit unclean tourism destinations such as littered beaches and polluted water bodies would continue to make these TDs not improve in their environmental products, hence, performing poorly in environmental sustainability performance. This study makes important contributions to research and practice of connecting customer value co-creation to environmental sustainability in emerging markets. Our study finds out that CVC in emerging markets can result in environmental sustainability

Wijsman Rough Statistical Convergence on Triple Sequences

In this paper, using the concept of natural density, we introduce the notion of Wijsman rough statistical convergence of triple sequence. We define the set of Wijsman rough statistical limit points of a triple sequence spaces and obtain Wijsman statistical convergence criteria associated with this set. Later, we prove that this set is closed and convex and also examine the relations between the set of Wijsman rough statistical cluster points and the set of Wijsman rough statistical limit points of a triple sequences

Nutrition intakes and nutritional status of school age children in Ghana

    Get PDF
This paper compares nutrition intakes and nutritional status of school children from two public schools in neighbouring communities of Ghana with different school feeding programmes. One hundred and eighty-two caregiver and school-age child pairs were interviewed concerning socio-demographics, dietary practices, and food security in a cross-sectional design. The independent t-test was used to compare the contribution of the publicly funded Ghana School Feeding Programme and private School Feeding Programme meals to total daily nutrient intakes of the children. Predictors of nutritional status of the children were assessed using logistic regression models. The private school feeding programme contributed more energy, protein, and micronutrients as compared to the government school feeding programme. About two-thirds (67.0%) of the children were stunted, underweight, or anaemic. Child’s age was a significant predictor of stunting. Undernutrition was prevalent among children from both programmes. Improved quality of diet from the feeding programmes may contribute to addressing malnutrition in these children

Africa Meets America: The Impact of Collectivism and Individualism on Attitude towards Shopping

The adoption of marketing strategy does not occur in cultural vacuums. Instead, marketing strategies unfold within social contexts that encode values, beliefs, and patterns of behavior. The increasingly inter-dependent global economy results in the acculturation of tensions between global and local consumer cultures. This dynamism however offers new opportunities for international firms to redefine and reevaluate their glocal (global/local) marketing strategies. Relying on Triandis cultural dimensions, this research contributes to international marketing literature by answering two key research questions, namely, what are the differences between African (Ghanaian) and American consumers’ cultural characteristics? and how do the cultural differences explain attitude towards shopping behavior? The results of the study demonstrate, contrary to the literature, that Ghanaians, unlike Americans, exhibit a fusion of collectivism and individualism. Further, while both individualism and collectivism cultural traits positively and significantly impact attitude towards shopping, the extent to which culture impacts attitude towards shopping is higher in the American consumer sample than in the Ghanaian consumer sample. The authors discuss implications for international marketing practice

Comparison of Two School Feeding Programmes in Ghana, West Africa

Background: Malnutrition of children in Ghana continues during school years. There is limited information on how school meals meet nutrient recommendations in Ghana. Objectives: The aim of this study was to compare energy and nutrient content of meals served by Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) and Non-Governmental School Feeding Programme (NGSFP) and adherence to nutrient recommendations. Methods: This was a cross sectional study design involving observation of school meals at two sites: GSFP and NGSFP. Average weights of a week’s meal were converted to energy and nutrient equivalence and compared with international recommendations. Differences assessed with t-tests. Results: NGSFP provided significantly higher portion size (416 ± 96 g vs. 243 ± 50 g; p=0.007), energy (776 ± 427 kcal vs. 315 ± 24 kcal; p=0.042) and fats (17± 8 vs. 6 ± 2; p=0.019) but similar micronutrient contributions to GSFP. NGSFP met energy and macronutrient recommendation set by World Food Programme; whereas, GSFP did not meet the recommendations. Conclusion and Recommendations: The NGSFP had more energy and macronutrients per serving size than the GSFP. Regulation of meals served by GSFP should be reviewed to ensure they contribute to the adequacy of children’s diets as well as meet recommendations set by World Food Programme
